Job summary

SWA Group invites current landscape architecture students to join SWA/Balsley for a full-time fall internship in New York City. The program runs January to June 2027, offering hands-on experience on high-profile projects and collaboration with principals and staff designers.

You will contribute to concept development, construction documentation, and cross-firm initiatives. The internship provides exposure to multiple SWA studios, a chance to build a strong portfolio, and opportunities to advance

Qualifications

• Current student in an accredited Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture.
• Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and organization.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
• Effective time management skills.
• Positive attitude and sense of accountability.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2014+.

Responsibilities

• Support the design team on projects in various phases of design, from concept through construction documentation.
• Tasks will include 3D modeling and rendering for presentations and competitions and preparation of construction drawings/documents.
• Collaborate with designers and studio leaders, including principals.
• Work on high-profile projects in the US, Middle East, Asia, and Europe.
• Assist with marketing and general office tasks.
