Job summary

SWA/Balsley offers full-time paid fall internship positions from January to June 2027 for current Landscape Architecture students. You will collaborate with staff designers and principals, developing your design and technical expertise on high-profile projects in NYC, the US, and abroad.

You will create 3D models and construction drawings, support marketing efforts, and engage with multiple SWA studios. This is a unique chance to grow your portfolio within a leading design firm.

Qualifications

• Current student in an accredited Bachelors or Masters degree in Landscape Architecture.
• Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail and organization; strong communication and time management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2014+ and Adobe Creative Suite; Microsoft Office.
• Experience with 3D modeling (Rhino) and visualization tools (Lumion/D5).
• Familiarity with Revit, Grasshopper, ArcGIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the design team on projects through concept to construction documentation.
• Create 3D models and renderings for presentations and competitions; prepare drawings.
• Collaborate with staff designers and principals on project goals.
• Assist with marketing tasks and general office duties as needed.
• Contribute to a growing studio with national and international project exposure.
• Work across SWA’s studios and engage with multiple project teams.
