Job summary

Pine Hollow Club in East Norwich, NY invites students in event management, hospitality, business, or communications to join its 14-week Events & Catering Management Internship. This paid, hands-on program runs spring/summer 2027 and covers the full event lifecycle from planning to post-event follow-up.

You will work with the Events team on weddings, private celebrations, golf outings, and other club functions, gaining exposure to banquet orders, timelines, vendor coordination, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed degree in event management, hospitality, business, communications, or related field.
• Understand both guest-facing and behind-the-scenes sides of event management.
• Comfortable learning by actively participating in event preparation and execution.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable, professional, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
• Can work 35–40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Interested in developing a career in events, catering, or hospitality management.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience across weddings, private celebrations, golf outings, receptions, and dinners.
• Engage in the complete event planning and execution lifecycle.
• Work with Banquet Event Orders and event documentation.
• Assist with event timelines, checklists, and planning tools.
• Support with guest counts, menus, beverages, and special requests.
• Assist with floor plans, room configurations, and readiness inspections.
• Participate in event-day coordination and post-event follow-up.
• Coordinate with Events, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Facilities, and other departments.
