Job summary

The Tepa Companies in Sacramento, CA, invite an Environmental Scientist Intern to support inspections and sampling of suspected contamination at client facilities nationwide. No prior sampling experience required; travel to project sites will be necessary.

The 2027 Intern Program is a paid 12-week opportunity. Work is ~40 hours per week at the Sacramento office and surrounding sites, with duties including data reviews, reporting, and client interaction.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental studies, or related field.
• Within 2 years of graduation (rising junior/rising senior).
• Self-motivated with strong organizational, problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be willing to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs sampling at client locations nationwide.
• Collects samples to submit to laboratories.
• Completes chain-of-custody documentation
• Creates inspection reports including inspection activities performed and sample results.
• Prepares draft technical reports.
• Direct interaction with clients at client sites.
