Job summary

Intern Palm Beach in West Palm Beach is seeking an Engineering Assistant Intern to join our engineering team. You will assist engineers with project tasks, contribute to field and laboratory testing, and help prepare technical documents under supervision.

This paid internship offers hands-on experience with engineering processes, data management, and basic design work. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and mentoring by licensed engineers; schedule flexibility for students is available.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in (or recent graduate of) a civil engineering, materials or environmental science or related program.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Abilities in mathematics, basic engineering software, and data/file organization.
• Written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff engineers with project tasks and coordination.
• Assist with field and laboratory testing of soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt following established procedures.
• Enter, organize, and summarize field and laboratory data.
• Prepare technical documents, figures, and calculations.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, keep work areas safe, and follow safety procedures.
• Follow company safety procedures and participate in health and safety planning for field activities.
• Participate in on‑the‑job training and mentoring.
