Job summary

HGA is offering a paid summer Electrical Engineering Internship for 2027, lasting about 12 weeks, starting by June 1, 2027. Locations include Minneapolis, MN; Milwaukee, WI; and Washington, DC.

You will work with lighting designs, power distribution, perform calculations, learn codes, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects across healthcare, education, science and technology, and other markets.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Architectural Engineering (electrical emphasis) or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Entering junior year or higher or enrolled in graduate school.
• Experience with electrical analysis software (ETAP, EasyPower, DAPPER, CAPTOR).
• Knowledge of AGi32 and/or Visual Pro.
• Familiarity with Revit preferred.
• GPA of 3.0+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with lighting designs balancing aesthetics and technical performance.
• Support design of power distribution and lighting systems for facilities.
• Perform electrical engineering calculations and analyses.
• Research codes/regulations and coordinate with city, county, and state officials.
