Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, invites a Mechanical Engineer Intern/Co-Op for a May–August 2027 term in Salt Lake City, UT. You’ll assist Mechanical Engineers and collaborate with Applications, Controls, and Build teams to design, build, program, and deploy custom automated equipment.

Responsibilities include detail drawing packages, CAD model updates, BOM completion, and vendor sizing. Requirements: enrolled in an accredited engineering program and a high school diploma or equivalent;

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Detail drawing packages for Mechanical Engineers.
• Solve practical problems with no standard solution.
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Update CAD models based on redline drawings once machines have been built.
• Complete layout of machine through detail of all components.
• Check peer drawing packages.
• Develop conceptual designs for customers or sales and quoting.
• Work with vendors for proper sizing and quotation of purchased items needed for design.
• Complete all stock sizes for mechanical bill of material.
