Job summary

People Creating Success is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Santa Maria, CA to support adults with developmental disabilities in our supported living and independent living programs.

You will help with daily living skills, encourage independence, and assist with community participation. CPR/First Aid training is provided if needed; weekend availability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Compassionate with a person-centered mindset.
• Capable of communication with dignity and respect.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• CPR/First Aid certification (Training provided if needed).
• Weekend availability is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, and budgeting.
• Encourage and model independence, hobbies, and social activities.
• Assist participants access and participate in community activities.
• Assist with personal care such as medication support, hygiene and bathing (lifting / transferring may be required).
• Collaborate Person-Centered Care planning with participant.
• Record progress of care plan.

Employment Information

Location: SantaMaria

Part-Time: $20.25 / hour

$10/month cell phone stipend

Health care benefits and PTO available if you transition to full time employment

$500 Sign On Bonus (In 2 installments, $250 upon completion of 30 days & 90 days after your first official in person non-training shift)

Your Responsibilities

Support participants with daily living skills such as cleaning, cooking, and budgeting

Who We’re Looking For

CPR / First Aid certification (Training will be provided if you’re not certified or need to be recertified)

Candidate Expectations of Development

Behavior Support & De-escalation: Support individuals through heightened emotional responses, complex behaviors, and sensory overload using proactive redirection and calming techniques.

Emotional Regulation: Recognize early signs of stress or escalation and guide individuals through personalized self-regulation strategies.

Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed shift logs and progress notes.
