Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with paediatric specialization to assess, diagnose, and treat children from infancy to adolescence in Upington, Northern Cape. You will work with families and school staff to develop individualized therapy plans and improve communication outcomes.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, implement evidence-based therapy, and educate families while collaborating with paediatricians, therapists, and educators in a supportive clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Registration with HPCSA as Speech-Language Pathologist.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities in paediatric clients.
• Diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders based on assessments and clinical expertise.
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based therapy plans for each child.
• Provide direct speech and language therapy services to children in individual or group settings.
• Educate and train parents, caregivers, and families on therapeutic techniques for daily carryover.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and educational staff.
• Maintain accurate, timely, confidential client records including progress notes and treatment plans.
• Stay current with research and best practices in paediatric speech-language pathology.
• Advocate for the communication needs of children within community and educational settings.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
