Job summary

The Hillingdon Hospital is seeking a Paediatric Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead and manage a growing paediatric emergency service within the A&E department. The role offers senior leadership opportunities, deputising for the Senior Sister with support from the Matron for Paediatric ED.

We seek a NMC registered paediatric nurse with a passion for quality patient care and leadership. Training days and development opportunities are available to support progression within the department.

Qualifications

• NMC registered paediatric nurse required.
• Evidence of leadership capability for shift coordination.
• Experience in paediatric emergency nursing or paediatric ITU/HDU valued.

Responsibilities

• Act as shift co-ordinator, supervising the multi-disciplinary team.
• Develop and monitor performance of nursing staff, ensuring high standards of care and safety.
• Promote effective communication and teamwork across levels.
• Demonstrate clinical leadership and specialist knowledge in paediatric ED.
• Assist Senior Sister/Charge Nurse with staff management, governance and risk.
• Contribute to strategic and operational development of the department.
