St. Tammany Parish Hospital is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse (PRN) in Covington, LA. The role involves caring for a group of post-anesthesia patients using the nursing process and collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team.

Shifts are Monday through Saturday with Sundays on-call; in-house availability within 30 minutes is required. Minimum qualifications include an LA RN license, BLS and ALS with ILCOR courses, and PALS within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Preferred: combination of acute medical/surgical nursing and critical care/post-anesthesia nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for a group of patients during assigned time frame using nursing process and teamwork.
• Must be available in-house within 30 minutes when on call.
• Maintain patient safety and monitoring in PACU environment.

Call requirements on Weekdays and Weekends. **Summary of the Job:** Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/equipment, and other health care team members. Must be available in-house within 30 minutes when on call. **Minimum Qualifications:**Current LA RN License. Current BLS and ALS certification through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.
