Job summary

OrthoVirginia Inc is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to join a collaborative perioperative team. You will provide attentive post-anesthesia care, monitor vitals, manage pain, and ensure safe recovery from anesthesia following surgery.

You will work with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team, document care accurately, and educate patients and families about the recovery process and discharge instructions. A current Virginia RN license and PACU experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state (Virginia).
• Clinical experience in PACU, perioperative, critical care, emergency, or other relevant acute-care setting.
• Strong bedside assessment, pain management, and patient safety skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care throughout perioperative recovery.
• Closely monitor vitals, airway status, pain, and anesthesia response.
• Recognize changes in condition and respond to potential complications.
• Administer medications and pain/symptom management as ordered.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and team for continuity of care.
• Educate patients and families on recovery and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation while protecting patient privacy.
• Support safety, quality standards, and efficient flow in a fast-paced environment.
