Job summary

Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama seeks an RN for Phase 2 Recovery & Discharge. The nurse will provide patient-centered care, coordinate the nursing process, and collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure safe post-anesthesia recovery and timely discharge.

The role includes conducting assessments, administering medications, monitoring equipment, educating patients and families, following infection control standards, and participating in performance improvement

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
• RN licensure in state or compact state required
• BCLS certification required
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care following nursing process
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge plans
• Maintain infection control standards and safe environment
