Job summary

Grandview Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PACU Phase 2 Outpatient Surgery Center on a PRN basis in Birmingham, AL. The RN will provide patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment, coordinating care with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

The role requires completing nursing assessments, administering medications, and ensuring post-operative safety and education. Shift starts at 7 AM and varies with census; ACLS/PALS preferred and BCLS required.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
• RN licensure in state or compact state required
• BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers patient-centered care per nursing process.
• Documents accurate patient assessments and reports changes to care team.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Collaborates with physicians and staff to implement individualized care plans.
• Responds to emergencies and participates in code team as appropriate.
• Educates patients and families on care plans and post-discharge instructions.
