Job summary

TriCities Hospital seeks a PACU Registered Nurse to provide immediate postoperative care for surgical patients. Responsibilities include airway management, neuro/cardiac monitoring, wound care, and collaboration with the surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure patient stability.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, an RN license in Virginia (or compact state), and certifications (ACLS, BCLS, PALS within specified timelines).

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
• Current RN Virginia license or has a compact multistate license.
• ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered postoperative care for surgical patients.
• Manage airway support and monitor neurological and cardiac status.
• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams and respond to complications.
• Document changes in patient condition and provide wound care as needed.
• Be available for on-call shifts during select non-business hours.
