Job summary

MLK Community Hospital is seeking an RN Clinical Staff in the PACU to provide post-anesthesia care for surgical patients in a modern, safety-net hospital setting. You will assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, manage pain and sedation, interpret vital signs, and respond quickly to changes in status.

Collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams ensures safe handoffs and high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care for surgical patients in PACU.
• Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Manage pain and sedation and interpret vital signs.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient status and emergencies.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams for safe handoffs and outcomes.
• Document care in the EHR and educate patients and families with compassion and cultural sensitivity.
