Job summary

MLK Community Hospital is seeking an RN Clinical Staff in the PACU to provide post-anesthesia care for surgical patients in a modern, mission-driven safety-net hospital.

You will assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, manage pain and sedation, interpret vital signs, respond quickly to changes, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe handoffs and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in California.
• Experience in PACU preferred.
• BLS/ACLS certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia care for surgical patients in PACU.
• Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia.
• Manage pain and sedation and interpret vital signs.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Document care in the EHR and ensure safe handoffs.
• Educate patients and families with compassion and cultural sensitivity.
