Job summary

Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, ID is seeking an RN to join Palouse Surgery Center in PACU. This full-time, on-site role provides age-appropriate post-anesthesia care, conducting assessments, developing care plans, and monitoring patient outcomes across phases I–III.

Collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia, and the surgical team is essential for safe recovery. The RN will uphold ASPAN standards and Idaho Board of Nursing requirements, participate in education, safety, and quality improvement,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Must be eligible for Idaho State Nursing Board licensure or reciprocity.
• Competent in core nursing skills within 90 days of hire.
• Required certifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care in PACU / Same Day Center settings.
• Perform patient assessments, interventions, and evaluations to support recovery.
• Utilize aseptic techniques and PACU procedures.
• Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and circulating nurses.
• Assist with equipment, supplies, and crash cart checks; participate in 24-hour call shifts.
• Engage in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.
