Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide immediate post-anesthesia care in the PACU. You will monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, ensure safety and stabilization, and coordinate with the surgical team to prepare for discharge or transfer.

The role requires NY RN licensure, BLS/ CPR, and 1–2 years in PACU/ICU. BSN preferred; weekend on-call is part of a rotating shift and the position is full-time on-site.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current NY RN Licensure.
• BLS/CPR certification; CPAN or CCN a plus.
• 1–2 years’ PACU/ICU/CCN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-anesthesia care and monitor vital signs, airway and consciousness.
• Assess and manage pain, nausea, and post-operative symptoms.
• Recognize anesthesia-related emergencies and respond quickly.
• Educate patients and families on postoperative care and discharge expectations.
