Job summary

Catholic Health Services in New York seeks a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN to recover, assess, monitor and manage care for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics after anesthesia. You will partner with physicians, RNs and ancillary staff to optimize outcomes and patient satisfaction, and advocate for families through safety interventions, education and support.

NY license required; BLS, ACLS, PALS as specified.

Qualifications

• 1+ year RN experience in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
• Associates in Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing required
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in New York State
• Certifications: BLS required for all RNs; ACLS required for all Perioperative areas; PALS required for ED and PACU.

Responsibilities

• Recover, assess, monitor, administer medication and manage overall care for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics who have undergone surgical procedures under anesthesia.
• Partner with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, RNs, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Advocate for and build meaningful relationships with patients' loved ones through safety intervention, emotional support and education.
