Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a PACU nurse for a full-time, rotating day/evening schedule with weekend on-call duties in Syracuse, NY. Ideal candidates hold RN licensure in New York and a BSN is preferred. BLS/CPR certification is required, CNOR/CPAN are a plus, with 1–2 years of relevant perioperative experience.

Qualifications

• RN with NY licensure; BSN preferred and BLS/CPR certified.
• 1–2 years of Pre-Op, PACU or perioperative nursing experience.
• On-call availability and ability to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assess and prepare patients for surgery and review medical history.
• Monitor patients preoperatively to ensure stability before surgery.
• Provide immediate post-anesthesia care and monitor vitals.
• Educate patients/families on post-op care and recovery.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, critical thinking and patient advocacy.
