Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse II to join our Perianesthesia Services team in Newark, DE. You will support pre-operative preparation and post-anesthesia recovery in a fast-paced Level I trauma environment.

The ideal candidate has strong critical thinking skills and 2+ years in Perianesthesia Nursing, Critical Care, or HVIS, with 12-hour shifts, rotating day/evening/overnight hours, and on-call as per guidelines.

Qualifications

• BSN is preferred or commitment to obtain within three years of hire.
• Current RN licensure; BLS required.
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Perianesthesia Nursing, Critical Care, or HVIS.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia nursing care for diverse patient populations.
• Assess and interpret clinical information to ensure safe progression through surgical continuum.
• Assist anesthesia providers with nerve blocks and moderate sedation administration.
• Prepare and recover patients receiving various anesthesia modalities.
• Monitor hemodynamics, cardiac rhythms, airway, pain management, and vascular access devices.
• Identify risks and implement interventions to ensure patient safety.
• Administer IV and oral medications and evaluate responses.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perianesthesia team to maintain high-quality care.
