ChristianaCare's PACU Registered Nurse II in Newark is a full-time/flex role within the Perianesthesia Services team. The position supports pre-operative preparation and post-anesthesia recovery in a dynamic Level I trauma environment.

The ideal candidate will handle adolescent through geriatric patients, with proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring, pain management, airway management, and vascular access. The schedule features rotating day/evening/overnight 12-hour shifts, with weekend and

Qualifications

• BSN required or commitment to obtain within three years.
• Current RN licensure.
• BLS required.
• ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 2 years of Perianesthesia Nursing, Critical Care, or HVIS experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia nursing care for diverse patient populations.
• Assess, interpret, and utilize clinical information to guide patient progression.
• Assist anesthesia providers with nerve blocks and moderate sedation.
• Prepare and recover patients receiving general, MAC, and local anesthesia.
• Monitor hemodynamics, cardiac rhythm, airway, pain management, and vascular access devices.
• Identify risks and implement interventions.
• Safely administer IV and oral medications and evaluate responses.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perianesthesia team to ensure quality care.
• Delegate tasks to nursing staff based on competency.
