Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA seeks a PACU RN for evening/night shifts. The role focuses on immediate post‑operative care, airway management, and collaboration with anesthesia and surgical teams. Shifts are three long days per week with start times around 08:00–21:30 and occasional variations to meet unit needs.

The RN provides patient education, supports safe discharge planning, and participates in continuous improvement activities while practicing in a dynamic PACU environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program eligible for Virginia RN licensure.
• Virginia RN licensure or eligibility required.
• BLS-HCP certification; ACLS/PALS/NRP depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-operative care in PACU with continuous monitoring.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical team and interdisciplinary staff.
• Deliver patient education and discharge planning as appropriate.
• Promote safe patient throughput and contribute to performance improvement.
