Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) on night shifts. You will manage immediate post-operative care, monitor airway, breathing, and circulation, and work with anesthesia and surgeons to ensure safe patient recovery.

The role requires Virginia RN licensure eligibility, BLS-HCP, and EPIC skills; schedule includes three 12-hour shifts per week with possible weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or approved program eligible to sit for Virginia RN licensure.
• Virginia RN licensure eligibility required.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be needed depending on unit.
• Computer skills for electronic medical records (EPIC) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-operative care in PACU with airway, respiratory, and cardiovascular monitoring.
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons and the care team for safe recovery.
• Prepare for discharge/transfer and educate patient/family on post-op care.
• Document care and participate in performance improvement activities.
