Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena, TX, is seeking a Recovery Room/PACU Registered Nurse to manage immediate post-operative care, including airway support and monitoring, with on-call availability for select non-business hours. The role supports a Level III Trauma Center in a high-acuity surgical service line involving heart/vascular, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and bariatrics.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact License (Texas RN license required within 90 days).
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS issued from American Heart Association required.
• 1 year of PACU recovery room experience as a licensed RN required.

Responsibilities

• Manage full clinical cycle by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care from pre-admission through discharge.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures with physicians’ assistance.
• Observe patient conditions, document activities confidentially, and escalate significant changes or drug reactions.
• Respond to call lights, assist with personal hygiene, and respect diverse values.
• Promote a collaborative team environment with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Participate in hospital performance initiatives to optimize patient safety and outcomes.
