Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Connecticut seeks an RN for the Main PACU to provide post-operative care for patients after complex surgeries performed in the Main OR of a Level 1 Trauma Center.

You will deliver high-acuity care, manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, and coordinate with anesthesiologists and surgeons to ensure safe emergence and transfer readiness. Connecticut RN license, ADN, and PACU experience are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• 1+ year PACU experience in inpatient surgical recovery.
• Preferred ER/ICU RN with 2+ years in ventilated patient care and critical drips; training post-hire.
• BLS/CPR, ACLS and TNCC certifications; ASPAN standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity post-operative care for patients recovering from trauma and complex surgeries.
• Manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensure safe emergence from anesthesia, and transfer readiness.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams to deliver advanced interventions.
• Adhere to perioperative standards and promote patient-centered care.
• Eligible for specialty pay and on-call coverage as required.
