Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse in the Ambulatory Surgery Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to provide high-acuity care for patients recovering from outpatient surgical procedures. The RN will manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensure safe emergence from anesthesia, and collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgeons.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• The ideal candidate will have one or more years of PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recovery.
• Preferred: ICU experience with 2+ years may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU-level ventilated patient care, critical drips, and strong assessment skills.
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC).
• ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire).
• Proficiency in ASPAN standards and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

Preferred:

• Candidates with ICU experience with 2+ years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU-level ventilated patient care, critical drips (e.g., vasopressors, sedatives), and strong assessment skills. Note: Training is not available for candidates without this expertise
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire)
• Proficiency in ASPAN standards and guidelines

Position Highlights and Benefits

• Part-Time – 24 hours/week – Day Shift
• Monday thru Friday, no weekend or holiday commitment.
• Variable Day shift rotations with ranging start times of 5:30 am, 6 am, 7 am, 8 am, or 9:00 am.
• Shifts range from 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts, based on unit needs
