Job summary

Connecticut Orthopaedics Specialists is seeking a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit RN to join our Branford, CT surgery center. You will assess, plan, treat and evaluate patients, coordinating care for a smooth recovery and discharge.

The role requires at least 1 year in PACU/ER/ICU, active RN licensure and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. We offer benefits, paid time off and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in PACU, ER, or ICU settings.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of ACLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• Successful completion of PALS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation or current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide PACU nursing care to patients 12+ by assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation.
• Coordinate nursing interventions to promote timely discharge and optimal outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and the healthcare team.
• Document patient progress and ensure adherence to facility policy and procedure.
• Assess patient status on admission and during ongoing care and revise plans as needed.
• Direct and mentor staff as assigned and participate in quality improvement.
