Job summary

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The role focuses on Phase I recovery across diverse surgical procedures, with on-call requirements and multiple shift options.

Requirements include RN license, BSN preferred (ADN acceptable), and ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications, plus 1 year of critical care or PACU experience. Excellent teamwork in a 10-bed unit is essential.

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered RN license.
• BSN preferred; ADN required.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
• Minimum 1 year ICU or PACU experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative PACU.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive post-anesthesia assessments.
• Monitor airway, hemodynamics, and pain control.
• Manage 10-bed PACU flow and patient turnover.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and endo/cvir staff.
• Educate patients and families on post-op care and discharge.
