Job summary

North Shore Surgical Center is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuous, high-quality post-anesthesia care. The role emphasizes patient safety, comfort, and privacy while monitoring recovery and assisting physicians as needed in the o.r.

or PACU environments. Ideal candidates hold an accredited RN degree, an active IL license, and BLS/ACLS certification, with at least two years in PACU/Pre-Op or critical care, preferably in ambulatory surgery settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in IL.
• BLS and ACLS Required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in PreOp/PACU, Med/Surg or Critical Care.
• Previous ambulatory surgical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all PACU patients with ongoing assessment and safe, comfort-focused care.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, sedation, and sterile technique as deemed appropriate.
• Deliver total comprehensive patient care from emergence from anesthesia or sedation through discharge planning.
