Job summary

Haymarket Surgery Center, part of United Surgical Partners International, is seeking a compassionate PACU Registered Nurse to deliver individualized post-anesthesia care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. You will monitor patients as they recover from anesthesia, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective communication with families and the care team.

The ideal candidate has RN licensure in Virginia, current BLS/ACLS, and additional PACU or critical care experience.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
Active RN license in the state.
BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of patient condition.
Maintain patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate.
Provide total care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation; assess, plan, implement, and evaluate before discharge.
