Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum one year on-the-job training.
• CCRN preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in the PACU using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate post-operative care with the surgeon and anesthesiologist.
• Direct and guide other personnel while maintaining PACU standards of care.
• Communicate patient condition changes to the physician, including hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic results.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality care and efficient patient flow.
• Adhere to regulations, standards and hospital policies; participate in performance improvement and unit meetings.
