Job summary

Quincy Medical Group is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, collaborate with the surgical team, and ensure a smooth transition through recovery.

This hands-on role emphasizes clinical judgment, teamwork, and compassionate care. The schedule is four days a week, Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm, in a collaborative surgical environment supporting post-anesthesia recovery.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• PACU/critical care/emergency or perioperative nursing experience preferred.
• Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment.
• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia, including vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and overall clinical condition.
• Recognize changes in patient status and respond to post-operative complications.
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and provide interventions per provider orders and protocols.
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and nursing staff to coordinate safe patient recovery.
• Evaluate discharge readiness and provide patients and caregivers with post-operative instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
• Promote patient safety, comfort, and efficient patient flow throughout recovery.
