Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital seeks an experienced Perianesthesia (PACU) nurse to deliver care before and after surgery in a 11-suite OR. This full-time position covers 4x9 or 4x10 hour shifts, with on-call requirements for nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• One year of critical care (ICU or ED) or PACU experience.
• BSN is preferred; ADN holders must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN license to practice in Virginia is required.
• BLS required at hire; ACLS and PALS to be completed within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide preanesthesia and postoperative PACU care (Phase 1 and 2).
• Monitor patient status, manage recovery from anesthesia, and respond to emergencies.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe and efficient patient flow.
