Job summary

United Surgical Partners International (USPI) seeks a PRN PACU RN at Haymarket Surgery Center in Haymarket, VA to deliver continuity of care to patients recovering from general anesthesia or sedation. The role emphasizes patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout recovery.

The successful candidate will have RN certification, Virginia license, BLS/ACLS, and preferably 2 years PACU or critical care experience; strong communication and clinical judgment are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
• Active RN license in the state of Virginia.
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Strong communication skills and nursing judgment.
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous and quality nursing care for patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation; assess, plan, implement and evaluate care.
• Monitor patient condition, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy at all times.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as deemed appropriate.
• Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; discharge preparation.

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. May assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. Will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing


• Active RN license in the state


• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center


• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred


• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment


• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
