Job summary

Amergis is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Bridgeport, CT. The PACU RN will care for patients recovering from anesthesia, monitor vitals, and ensure safe awakening.

Minimum requirements include active RN licensure in the relevant state, PACU experience preferred, and certifications such as CPAN/CAPA, ACLS/PALS as applicable. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state where RN is working.
• One year PACU experience preferred.
• CPAN or CAPA certification preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certifications per contract.
• Complies with all relevant standards and safety requirements.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest X-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate per contract or state regulation.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients who have undergone anesthesia in PACU and ensure safe recovery.
• Monitor vitals and levels of consciousness to assess sedation wear-off.
• Identify adverse reactions and escalate to the care team as needed.

The post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN cares for patients who have under gone anesthesia. The post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN is responsible for observing and treating a patient postoperation and making sure that they safely awake from anesthesia. The post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN must monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness to make sure that the sedation is wearing off properly, there are no adverse reactions occurring and patients are regaining consciousness.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current RN licensure in the state in which RN is working.

• One year PACU experience preferred

• CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) or CAPA (Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse) certification preferred

• ACLS and PALS certification per contract requirements

• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
