Job summary

Halifax Health in Florida is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PACU to assess, implement, and evaluate nursing care. The RN will direct and coordinate care for the team, including LPNs, CNAs, and support staff, aligned with patient needs and unit standards.

Responsibilities include admission assessment, ongoing monitoring, documentation, medication administration, and collaboration with physicians and the care team to achieve positive patient outcomes and timely discharge.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited school of nursing; bachelor degree preferred.
• Completion of general and nursing orientation.
• Completion of unit orientation and unit-specific competency checklist.
• Certifications as required by the unit; CB L’s for ongoing learning.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient on admission and monitor ongoing status.
• Plan and coordinate care based on patient assessment.
• Document assessment data on admission and ongoing basis.
• Administer medications according to established policies.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve outcomes.
• Involve family/significant others in the plan of care.
• Provide individualized teaching to ensure positive outcomes and timely discharge.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical practice.
