Job summary

Safety Harbor Surgery Center is seeking a Preoperative PACU Registered Nurse to provide continuous, high-quality care for patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation. You will monitor patient conditions, ensure safety and privacy, and support physicians in procedure rooms with sterile techniques.

The role emphasizes comprehensive patient care from PACU to discharge planning, strong communication, and efficient workload management within a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center.
• 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation.
• Evaluate patient condition continuously to ensure safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in the procedure rooms with tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile techniques as appropriate.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient and family care in preparation for discharge.
