Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC, is seeking a dedicated PACU/Pre-Op Registered Nurse to deliver safe, evidence-based care for patients recovering from anesthesia and preparing for surgery. You will monitor vitals, manage pain, and coordinate with surgical and anesthesia teams in a fast-paced, team-centered environment.

Required: current DC RN license, BLS/ACLS certification, and 1 year of PACU/ICU/ED experience. BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current DC RN license required or eligible.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum 1 year PACU/ICU/ED experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in PACU and Pre-Op.
• Monitor vitals, pain, and recovery status after anesthesia.
• Prepare patients for procedures including assessments and education.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and care teams.
• Document care in EMR and support families throughout the surgical journey.
