Job summary

The Slocum Ambulatory Surgery Center in Eugene, Oregon seeks a full-time RN to provide pre-operative and PACU nursing care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. You will assess patients, prepare for surgery, and coordinate with anesthesia to ensure safe admissions and efficient recoveries.

Responsibilities include starting IVs, administering medications, documenting progress, and teaching patients and caregivers at discharge.

Qualifications

• Two years of PACU, ICU, or ER experience is required.
• Current Oregon nursing license is required.
• CPR and ACLS certifications are required; PALS is preferred and may be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate pre-operative and post-operative patient care.
• Prepare patients for surgery and discharge, admit patients, start IV and administer medications.
• Collaborate with anesthesia team and monitor recovery, document status and interventions.
• Assist with unit maintenance, stocking supplies, and inventory management.
• Provide patient and caregiver discharge instructions in clear language.
