Job summary

Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI, is seeking a registered nurse to plan and provide nursing care to patients according to AORN Standards of Nursing Practice and Hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include using the nursing process, monitoring patients, educating families, documenting care, and coordinating with physicians to ensure continuity of care. Requires RI licensure, BLS and ACLS, and at least three years of relevant experience; PACU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and a minimum of three years job-related experience or equivalent is required.
• RI State Licensure is also required.
• Experience must include one year critical care nursing; PACU experience preferred.
• BLS and ACLS are required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to implement goal-directed nursing care for a defined group of patients.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to Nursing Supervisor and Physician.
• Assess healthcare status based on exams, reports and consultations.
• Educate patients and families regarding condition, treatment, discharge planning and follow-up.
• Document care clearly and maintain medical records with accuracy.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in quality assurance activities.
