Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Manager of the Main Operating Room/PACU in Norfolk, VA. The role is full-time with strong benefits and leads the perioperative services across several specialties.

The candidate will oversee RN staff, develop schedules, and drive patient safety with a focus on high-quality surgical services in a Magnet-accredited system.

Qualifications

• RN-Bachelor’s Level Degree is required.
• Operating Room experience: 3 years; Supervisory experience: 3 years.
• Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse.
• Master’s level degree in nursing preferred.
• Preferred PACU or ICU experience and leadership in a complex academic medical center.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility and accountability for operations and success.
• Deliver high quality services meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
• Safe management of patients throughout perioperative experience.
• Mentor by role modeling professional practice per surgeon expectations and organizational goals.
• Manage 2 direct reports and ~125 indirect reports.
• Scope includes General/ENT/Trauma, Vascular/Podiatry and GYN/Eyes/Plastics/Orientees.
• Hiring of RNs including Call schedule and Holiday schedule.

Serving as a destination medical center in the Mid-Atlantic region, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is one of just five Level 1 trauma centers in Virginia, home to the Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance, region's first Magnet hospital and nationally ranked heart program at Sentara Heart Hospital.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility and accountability for operations and success.
• Responsible for the delivery of high quality services which meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Position is responsible for safe management of patients throughout perioperative experience.
• Serve as mentor by role modeling a professional practice consistent with surgeon expectations, organizational goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness, patient safety and clinical standards of care.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $123,572.80 - $188,635.20 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
