Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Hospital of Central Connecticut is seeking a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit nurse to join a busy 10-bed PACU. You will provide pre- and post-operative care, start IVs, administer meds, educate patients, and document per ASPAN guidelines.

The role requires a current CT RN license, ICU experience preferred, and BLS; ACLS is required for external candidates. The service offers 24/7 coverage with on-call requirements and collaboration within a skilled team.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• ICU experience preferred; ED/step-down/floor-level considered.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to date of hire.
• ACLS certification required for external candidates.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative care in a 10-bed PACU.
• Initiate IVs, administer meds, educate patients, and document care.
• Recover patients from anesthesia and manage postoperative care.
• Support a variety of surgical services with 24/7 coverage.
• On-call requirements apply; ICU experience preferred.
