Job summary

Connecticut Orthopaedics Specialists is seeking a Part Time PACU RN in Branford, CT. The Staff Nurse will assess, plan, treat and evaluate patients 12+ undergoing post-anesthesia care, delivering compassionate, individualized nursing care.

The role emphasizes efficient coordination, clear communication with families and team, and readiness for discharge. Requires 1 year PACU/ER/ICU experience, state RN license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS credentials within required timeframes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in PACU, ER, or ICU settings.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS)/Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
• Successful completion of ACLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
• Successful completion of PALS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation or current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit by assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation of their nursing needs.
• Deliver safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative and goal-directed nursing care to patients and families.
• Coordinate and direct nursing interventions to achieve expected outcomes and readiness for discharge.
