Job summary

UT Health East Texas seeks a Registered Nurse for our PACU/Day Surgery team in Tyler, TX. You will provide high-quality pre- and post-anesthesia care to surgical patients, monitoring vitals, managing pain, administering IV medications, and ensuring safe recoveries.

You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary staff, support patient and family education, and uphold strict safety and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed registered nurse (RN) in Texas.
• Experience in PACU or day surgery preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-anesthesia care for surgical patients.
• Monitor vitals, manage pain, and administer IV medications.
• Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery expectations.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary staff.
• Uphold safety and infection control standards.
