Job summary

The New Mexico VA Health Care System in Albuquerque is seeking an Outpatient Staff Registered Nurse for the Patient Aligned Care Team in Specialty Care Service.

The nurse will provide direct Veteran care, care coordination, and health education, while supporting quality improvement and team development within the Primary Care Department. An RN license in the United States is required, with eligibility via VA qualification standards.

Qualifications

• English proficiency required to meet VA standards.
• Graduate of an approved nursing program (ACEN/CCNE) or equivalent.
• State RN license or eligible/licensure pathway as described (GNT exception noted).

Responsibilities

• Provide competent gender-specific care for primary care patients.
• Oversee nursing staff as part of the PACT team.
• Engage in health promotion, education, and chronic care management.
• Coordinate care using registries and ensure access for patient panels.
• Participate in nursing education, orientation, and quality improvement.
