Job summary

Cumberland County Guidance Center in Bridgeton, NJ, is seeking a Full-Time Dual Diagnosis Disorder Specialist to join the PACT team. You will work with individuals who have co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, delivering counseling, crisis intervention, and treatment coordination to promote long-term stability.

The role involves assessments, community-based services, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and ongoing documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a mental health-related field from an accredited college or university.
• CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) or LCADC (Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor) credential.
• Minimum two years of post-certification experience working with co-occurring disorders, serious and persistent mental illness, and MICA populations.
• Knowledge of substance use treatment and recovery principles.
• Experience providing counseling and community-based behavioral health services.
• Valid New Jersey driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct substance use assessments and screenings.
• Provide substance abuse counseling and recovery support services.
• Deliver crisis intervention and symptom assessment.
• Utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI) and recovery-oriented treatment approaches.
• Assist clients in developing recovery and relapse-prevention skills.
• Coordinate referrals to rehabilitation, detoxification, and treatment programs.
• Share responsibility for client caseload management.
• Connect clients with community resources, benefits, housing supports, and recovery services.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and compliance standards.
