Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Float Registered Nurse for the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) to support multiple Outpatient Clinics within the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System.

The incumbent will base at the Balcones Heights Outpatient Clinic and may travel to additional clinics to cover staffing needs as required. Strong nursing licensure and ASBN/BSN pathways are preferred for career progression.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with licensure in the U.S.
• Pathways for bridge programs and subsequent state licensure
• Current, full, active RN registration in the U.S. or DC
• Ability to work in outpatient PACT clinics and coordinate care

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care within the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) across clinics
• Perform triage, EKGs, diabetes foot exams, and routine nursing tasks
• Lead huddles, manage clinic staff on a rotating basis
• Ensure JCAHO standards and quality improvement initiatives
