PACS Technologist (Onsite)

Columbia, MO 65212

Duration: 3 Months (possible extension or perm placement)

Shift

• 7am – 7:30pm – 3 days -12 hour shifts (could be any day during the week or weekend)

Overview

The PACS Technologist is responsible for maintaining the integrity of PACS as designed by the PACS administrator. Other position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: managing the transfer of image data to and from workstations, ensuring images are networked to appropriate workstations and processed images are networked to PACS and other viewing/archival systems, and providing training/support for physicians and technologists who are learning and utilizing imaging equipment with the intent to transfer and archive data.

Responsibilities

• Articulate a precise understanding of the function and flow within a Picture Archival Communication System (PACS) to assist the PACS Administrator with database maintenance and support.
• Ability to generate and maintain technical diagrams and configuration settings as it relates to PACS.
• Assist with defining policies and procedures related to PACS and its functionality. Review feedback from end users to analyze and compile support data and recommend procedural and educational changes as appropriate.
• Participate in meetings for the installation of new equipment to ensure proper installation and integration expectations are met, which are relevant to the information systems required for data to flow properly. Seek ways to improve systems and services.
• Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot interface issues from modality workstations to downstream information systems to prevent delays in patient care or the delivery of their results to the provider.
• Understand time clock expectations and adhere to attendance and punctuality guidelines. General knowledge and understanding of other radiology information systems (RIS, Speech Recognition, EMR).

Qualifications

• Associate Degree & 1-2 years PACS admin experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• American Registry of Radiological Sciences
• CT/MR AARRT Registrations, ARDMS, NMTCB, ARMRIT, ACRRRT.
• Experience with #3D Software and or multi planar reformatting preferred.
